The Good Parent

Hi Peeps,
Today’s Quote
“My kids all constantly remind me how quickly I respond to them when they are doing good or bad works.  Still, some how, I can walk a mile in two steps to reach them, with an axe for a tongue, nail like fingers, and an atomic holy foot to keep them in line!”  ~ Jon Barnes

Weapons of ((M))ass

As my children grew, I made sure they understood their boundaries and provided correction as needed.  I was around to execute judgement and I still am!  On my watch, my kids will do well and focus on God, or else they face the consequences of their actions. Now that they’re adults, we’ll get together and they laugh, reminiscing at the times when they got into trouble– knowing well enough their actions would bring upon judgement. Correction, when provided appropriately, allows kids to learn and understand personal responsibility.

The Atomic Button

Kids need to know that they are accountable for their actions and the fear of God should come over them when they see you are displeased.  Love, respect, and fear are healthy combinations and boundaries to establish and maintain wisdom, knowledge, and intelligence.  The Rod of Correction activated the Atomic Bomb in the minds of kids to learn and know that the truth is read!  The bomb was dropped every day because I was there to hit the Red button exploding new and wonderful learning opportunities in their minds to lead and guide them into God’s Truth. There is no excuse. Now get to Work!

Not too Busy

I’m not too busy to spend time, talk, or have fun with my children and family.  They were taught how to read the bible, respect God, and honestly do their best work with their best effort.  We have tons of fun doing crazy things, playing music, teaching, learning, sharing, and growing in love.  I am here to lead, guide, and answer questions, while praying and pointing to God for answers to new questions.
Yet, we are not too busy to regularly spend quality time, living, learning, listening, and loving each other. Don’t be a Fake Parent, being driven by the money, business, opportunities, cell phone and computer, cars, houses, and boats, etc, while ignoring your own health, savings, responsibilities, and time management with God, your own kids, family, and life.  Live with Integrity!

This is the job of a parent, teacher, or any other good person. Have you resin to the occasion or do you need a resurrection?

Mark 16New International Version (NIV)

Jesus Has Risen

16 When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus’ body. Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb and they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?”
But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away. As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robesitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.
“Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.’”
Trembling and bewildered, the women went out and fled from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid.[a]

[The earliest manuscripts and some other ancient witnesses do not have verses 9–20.]
When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had driven seven demons. 10 She went and told those who had been with him and who were mourning and weeping. 11 When they heard that Jesus was alive and that she had seen him, they did not believe it.
12 Afterward Jesus appeared in a different form to two of them while they were walking in the country. 13 These returned and reported it to the rest; but they did not believe them either.
14 Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating; he rebuked them for their lack of faith and their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen him after he had risen.
15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”
19 After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God. 20 Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.
Love Y’ all Madly,
Jonathan
