Gig

Today’s Quote
“One of my 700 trumpet students, a third grader saw me on a gig with his parents. I played a trumpet duet with him since it was the first time seeing their son play an instrument.”  ~  Jon Barnes

Community

All of the good lessons that are tough for children should reflect on community participation, enrollment, involvement, an discovery.  Simply share the stage with people as the moment arise.  Time flies and you never know when it will be your last gig!  Share the love.

Preparation

The fruit of the hard work will release and reveal itself by faith, opportunity, and prayer when you least expect it.  During the last month, 3 other sets of parents and grandparents recognized me on a gig and enjoyed watching their daughters play the trumpet in public for the first time as well.  Be ready for the gig.  I’ve grown more patient and long-suffering in my old age!

Recital

In life, there are no times for warm-ups.  My students are taught to hear, think, play, and read the music.  By teaching Tens of thousands of students over the years, I had to improve my techniques and approach to motivating, learning and teaching for myself and others.  I am the biggest student on the gig sharing the knowledge.
Today’s Question
Are you prepared to gig on the spot each day in your community with the love of your faith in action, being ready to share and work the knowledge of God’s Truth?

Psalm 16

A psalm of David.

Keep me safe, O God,
for I have come to you for refuge.
I said to the Lord, “You are my Master!
Every good thing I have comes from you.”
The godly people in the land
    are my true heroes!
    I take pleasure in them!
Troubles multiply for those who chase after other gods.
I will not take part in their sacrifices of blood
or even speak the names of their gods.
Lord, you alone are my inheritance, my cup of blessing.
You guard all that is mine.
The land you have given me is a pleasant land.
    What a wonderful inheritance!
I will bless the Lord who guides me;
even at night my heart instructs me.
I know the Lord is always with me.
I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.
No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice.
    My body rests in safety.
10 For you will not leave my soul among the dead
or allow your holy one to rot in the grave.
11 You will show me the way of life,
granting me the joy of your presence
and the pleasures of living with you forever.

Love,

Jonathan
