Independent Study

Hi Peeps,

Today’s Quote

“It takes only 5 minutes to read a chapter of the Bible a day, yet few people actually do it.”~ Jon Barnes

Right Answers

The path to Truth and righteousness is very simple in nature. It requires independent study, on your own time, with your own eyes, in order for you to receive its inheritance.  The Bible espouses wisdom to those who continually seek the Truth. By doing your Biblical homework, reading a chapter and meditating on the Word on a daily basis, you find the correct answers to navigate the many traps and snares in this fallen world. However, many fail to cultivate the discipline and steadfastness required to pass their Biblical tests.

Wrong Answers

When you are lazy and fail to do your Biblical reading, you rely on the wrong answers of false teachers, pastors, prophets, and the like. You fall prey to their fake candor, false leadership, and flattering words. Slowly but surely they turn your hearts from the Lord and onto their agendas. Friends, if your spiritual leaders are pointing towards a “Caesar” for leadership, they are not of God. God does not need politicians or world leaders of any kind to gain access to our hearts and minds. Only a fool who copied false answers instead of studying the Word would fall prey to that. Do you not recall the reign of Saul? Study the Word so that you can receive everlasting life. Or don’t and enjoy the alternative. The choice is ultimately yours.

Psalm 80

1 Please listen, O Shepherd of Israel, you who lead Joseph’s descendants like a flock. O God, enthroned above the cherubim, display your radiant glory
2 to Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasseh. Show us your mighty power. Come to rescue us!
3 Turn us again to yourself, O God. Make your face shine down upon us. Only then will we be saved.
4 O LORD God of Heaven’s Armies, how long will you be angry with our prayers?
5 You have fed us with sorrow and made us drink tears by the bucketful.
6 You have made us the scorn of neighboring nations. Our enemies treat us as a joke.
7 Turn us again to yourself, O God of Heaven’s Armies. Make your face shine down upon us. Only then will we be saved.
8 You brought us from Egypt like a grapevine; you drove away the pagan nations and transplanted us into your land.
9 You cleared the ground for us, and we took root and filled the land.
10 Our shade covered the mountains; our branches covered the mighty cedars.
11 We spread our branches west to the Mediterranean Sea; our shoots spread east to the Euphrates River.
12But now, why have you broken down our walls so that all who pass by may steal our fruit?
13 The wild boar from the forest devours it, and the wild animals feed on it.
14 Come back, we beg you, O God of Heaven’s Armies. Look down from heaven and see our plight. Take care of this grapevine
15 that you yourself have planted, this son you have raised for yourself.
16 For we are chopped up and burned by our enemies. May they perish at the sight of your frown.
17 Strengthen the man you love, the son of your choice.
18 Then we will never abandon you again. Revive us so we can call on your name once more.
19 Turn us again to yourself, O LORD God of Heaven’s Armies. Make your face shine down upon us. Only then will we be saved.

Handout

Hi Peeps,
Today’s Quote
“People are not looking for a handout, they are looking for a hand up with some real help and solutions to age-old problems.”  ~ Jon Barnes

People

God is not giving the people of this world a handout, but He is a hand up through Jesus Christ to follow Him into the Pearly Gates of Heaven.  When you grab the hand of Christ to walk the ways and path of biblical faith, honesty, and integrity, God will hold your hand and never let you go.

World

When you let the hand of God go to follow your own lust of your flesh, desires, interest, greed, power, and beliefs, the devil enjoys holding your hand of rebellious foolishness to walk with you straight to hell.  Smile and enjoy the journey into the pit of fire forever with the many people of the world who choose to let go of God’s Hand of Salvation and path of righteousness.

God

God gave His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the Cross for our sins so that we could choose the path to Heaven of the path to hell.  This is not a handout or a free meal ticket for evil people trying to steal their way into the heart of God’s eternal rest.  God’s final chapter of structure, love, and complete understanding will accompany all things known as they are, through the Pearly Gates, if He knows you as a child of God, who ran the race properly.
Today’s Question
Are you still running your race with God or are you running around lying, begging, cheating, stealing, and looking for handouts?

Psalm 69

1 Save me, O God, for the floodwaters are up to my neck.
2 Deeper and deeper I sink into the mire; I can’t find a foothold. I am in deep water, and the floods overwhelm me.
3 I am exhausted from crying for help; my throat is parched. My eyes are swollen with weeping, waiting for my God to help me.
4 Those who hate me without cause outnumber the hairs on my head. Many enemies try to destroy me with lies, demanding that I give back what I didn’t steal.
5 O God, you know how foolish I am; my sins cannot be hidden from you.
6 Don’t let those who trust in you be ashamed because of me, O Sovereign LORD of Heaven’s Armies. Don’t let me cause them to be humiliated, O God of Israel.
7 For I endure insults for your sake; humiliation is written all over my face.
8 Even my own brothers pretend they don’t know me; they treat me like a stranger.
9 Passion for your house has consumed me, and the insults of those who insult you have fallen on me.
10 When I weep and fast, they scoff at me.
11 When I dress in burlap to show sorrow, they make fun of me.
12 I am the favorite topic of town gossip, and all the drunks sing about me.
13 But I keep praying to you, LORD, hoping this time you will show me favor. In your unfailing love, O God, answer my prayer with your sure salvation.
14 Rescue me from the mud; don’t let me sink any deeper! Save me from those who hate me, and pull me from these deep waters.
15 Don’t let the floods overwhelm me, or the deep waters swallow me, or the pit of death devour me.
16Answer my prayers, O LORD, for your unfailing love is wonderful. Take care of me, for your mercy is so plentiful.
17 Don’t hide from your servant; answer me quickly, for I am in deep trouble!
18 Come and redeem me; free me from my enemies.
19 You know of my shame, scorn, and disgrace. You see all that my enemies are doing.
20 Their insults have broken my heart, and I am in despair. If only one person would show some pity; if only one would turn and comfort me.
21 But instead, they give me poison for food; they offer me sour wine for my thirst.
22 Let the bountiful table set before them become a snare and their prosperity become a trap.
23 Let their eyes go blind so they cannot see, and make their bodies shake continually.
24 Pour out your fury on them; consume them with your burning anger.
25 Let their homes become desolate and their tents be deserted.
26 To the one you have punished, they add insult to injury; they add to the pain of those you have hurt.
27 Pile their sins up high, and don’t let them go free.
28 Erase their names from the Book of Life; don’t let them be counted among the righteous.
29 I am suffering and in pain. Rescue me, O God, by your saving power.
30 Then I will praise God’s name with singing, and I will honor him with thanksgiving.
31 For this will please the LORD more than sacrificing cattle, more than presenting a bull with its horns and hooves.
32 The humble will see their God at work and be glad. Let all who seek God’s help be encouraged.
33 For the LORD hears the cries of the needy; he does not despise his imprisoned people.
34 Praise him, O heaven and earth, the seas and all that move in them.
35 For God will save Jerusalem and rebuild the towns of Judah. His people will live there and settle in their own land.
36 The descendants of those who obey him will inherit the land, and those who love him will live there in safety.
