Spinning Wheels

Hi Peeps,

Today’s Quote

“Why waste time arguing with fools? If the message is falling on deaf ears clearly it’s not intended for them.”~TB

Burnout

This world is full of fools who are willing to believe stupid things due to their blatant disobedience. They seek any justification to stay in their stupor and will look for supporters high and low. Friends, let the wicked have this world, they’ve made their choice. When you fight with the willfully deaf, you are engaging in a battle that isn’t meant to be won. Instead, you’ve wasted your resources and energy on a futile effort. Focus your efforts on yourself and your service for God. He will instruct your steps if you allow Him to. Don’t let the evil one deceive you by distracting you with dumb people. It’s a trap, keep your eyes peeled and sidestep the noise.

Focus

It’s important to understand that we aren’t here to change hearts and minds. That’s God’s job. We are here to live and speak the Truth. Though we may be part of that plan, our job is the mirror the Truth to the best of our abilities and let God handle the God stuff. He knows how to handle that far better than humans, so let’s just stick to our holy occupations. When you focus your efforts and habits, you will see that your honest, Biblical deeds yield more fruit than arguing with an idiot who is souled out for the devil. Do not engage with them. If you practice kindness and humility, their own deeds will heap coals on their heads, without you having to do a thing.

Today’s Question

Are you wasting your time on stupid stuff or are you focusing on your personal holy employment?

Psalm 91

1 Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 This I declare about the LORD : He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him.
3 For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease.
4 He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.
5 Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day.
6 Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday.
7 Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you.
8 Just open your eyes, and see how the wicked are punished.
9 If you make the LORD your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter,
10 no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home.
11 For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go.
12 They will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.
13 You will trample upon lions and cobras; you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet!
14 The LORD says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name.
15When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them.
16 I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation.”

Truth in Choice

black-4117714_1920.jpg

Hi Peeps,

Today’s Quote

“You want God’s blessing and the freedom of choice, but you don’t want to abide by His Truth.”~TB

Truth

In every day of our lives, we all have to make choices that impact our present and future. While some things are outside of our control, we are a sum total of the hundreds of choices we make each and every day. Friends, we are all dealt the hand we have. Some of us were blessed with God-fearing and honest parents, and unfortunately many go without and are forced to adapt to horrible situations. God’s truth still rings true no matter your circumstance. Even the broken have a choice. If you truly seek healing and restoration, turn to Him.

Truth Adjacent

Blame Him for the choices you made and live in your hedonistic fantasy. Sure, you may be right in the sense that you have suffered unfortunate events, but does that make you right with God? Friends, the burden our of pain and suffering are not meant for us to carry. We cannot reconcile it on our own, which is why forgiveness is necessary. What makes the Good News truly great is that through salvation, we have escaped the just pain and suffering that we are owed. However, if you wish to remain in your fleshly deeds, that is your choice. If you truly want to seek a self-serving life, lean into the pain and suffering of your choices. But do not say that you were not exposed to the truth.

Today’s Question

Are you allowing past hurts to dictate your fate?

Psalm 74

1 O God, why have you rejected us so long? Why is your anger so intense against the sheep of your own pasture?
2 Remember that we are the people you chose long ago, the tribe you redeemed as your own special possession! And remember Jerusalem, your home here on earth.
3 Walk through the awful ruins of the city; see how the enemy has destroyed your sanctuary.
4 There your enemies shouted their victorious battle cries; there they set up their battle standards.
5 They swung their axes like woodcutters in a forest.
6 With axes and picks, they smashed the carved paneling.
7 They burned your sanctuary to the ground. They defiled the place that bears your name.
8 Then they thought, “Let’s destroy everything!” So they burned down all the places where God was worshiped.
9 We no longer see your miraculous signs. All the prophets are gone, and no one can tell us when it will end.
10 How long, O God, will you allow our enemies to insult you? Will you let them dishonor your name forever?
11Why do you hold back your strong right hand? Unleash your powerful fist and destroy them.
12 You, O God, are my king from ages past, bringing salvation to the earth.
13 You split the sea by your strength and smashed the heads of the sea monsters.
14 You crushed the heads of Leviathan and let the desert animals eat him.
15 You caused the springs and streams to gush forth, and you dried up rivers that never run dry.
16 Both day and night belong to you; you made the starlight and the sun.
17 You set the boundaries of the earth, and you made both summer and winter.
18 See how these enemies insult you, LORD . A foolish nation has dishonored your name.
19 Don’t let these wild beasts destroy your turtledoves. Don’t forget your suffering people forever.
20 Remember your covenant promises, for the land is full of darkness and violence!
21 Don’t let the downtrodden be humiliated again. Instead, let the poor and needy praise your name.
22 Arise, O God, and defend your cause. Remember how these fools insult you all day long.
23 Don’t overlook what your enemies have said or their growing uproar.

Musical Chairs

Hi Peeps,

Today’s Quote

“God is faithful in that we have until our final breath to accept salvation. Of course, none of us knows when we check out!”~TB

Chance

Each day that you shuck and jive with where you stand with God is like playing a game of musical chairs with the devil. With each passing turn, a chair is removed, statistically decreasing your odds of winning. Friends, don’t play musical chairs with your salvation. You will not win.

Choice

If the truth is not something you are interested in, avert your gaze. The choice is yours to receive your heavenly inheritance. My job is to point to the truth– the Bible. God examines the motive of your heart. So while you may fool us, you are not fooling him.

Question of the Day

Are you comfortable with leaving your destiny up to chance, or will you grab your seat before it’s too late?

Psalm 66

1 Shout joyful praises to God, all the earth! 2 Sing about the glory of his name! Tell the world how glorious he is. 3 Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds! Your enemies cringe before your mighty power. 4 Everything on earth will worship you; they will sing your praises, shouting your name in glorious songs.” Interlude 5 Come and see what our God has done, what awesome miracles he performs for people! 6 He made a dry path through the Red Sea, and his people went across on foot. There we rejoiced in him.7 For by his great power he rules forever. He watches every movement of the nations; let no rebel rise in defiance. Interlude 8 Let the whole world bless our God and loudly sing his praises. 9 Our lives are in his hands, and he keeps our feet from stumbling. 10 You have tested us, O God; you have purified us like silver. 11 You captured us in your net and laid the burden of slavery on our backs. 12 Then you put a leader over us. We went through fire and flood, but you brought us to a place of great abundance. 13 Now I come to your Temple with burnt offerings to fulfill the vows I made to you— 14 yes, the sacred vows that I made when I was in deep trouble. 15 That is why I am sacrificing burnt offerings to you— the best of my rams as a pleasing aroma, and a sacrifice of bulls and male goats. Interlude 16 Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will tell you what he did for me. 17 For I cried out to him for help, praising him as I spoke. 18 If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. 19 But God did listen! He paid attention to my prayer. 20Praise God, who did not ignore my prayer or withdraw his unfailing love from me.

Hi Peeps,
Today’s Quote
“Since there is nothing you can do, say, or think to stop the power of God, the good choice of obedience in love is very clear, obvious, and wise.”  ~  Jon Barnes

Next

There is no need to worry about the next move that God has planned for you, but keep your eyes, ears, and senses open to how God will move you to the next assignment.  Your promotion is in the move of the next destination and your blessing are hidden in the journey of the destination.

Notice

Notice how things come together with the new people that you meet and your inspiration is someone’s hope and encouragement.  New places and spaces provide opportunities for growth, expansion, and promotion in wisdom, savings, and blessings.  Money is not always the object.

Settings

Change your mental, physical, and spiritual settings to flow with God and His infinite wisdom so that your movements leave a legacy of wonder and lasting impressions of hope for others to follow. Exercise these new gifts in the gym of life, swimming in God’s lifestyle of love, where ever you go.

Psalm 27

Psalm 27

A psalm of David.

The Lord is my light and my salvation—
so why should I be afraid?
The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger,
    so why should I tremble?
When evil people come to devour me,
when my enemies and foes attack me,
    they will stumble and fall.
Though a mighty army surrounds me,
my heart will not be afraid.
Even if I am attacked,
    I will remain confident.
The one thing I ask of the Lord
    the thing I seek most—
is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
    delighting in the Lord’s perfections
    and meditating in his Temple.
For he will conceal me there when troubles come;
he will hide me in his sanctuary.
He will place me out of reach on a high rock.
Then I will hold my head high
above my enemies who surround me.
At his sanctuary I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy,
singing and praising the Lord with music.
Hear me as I pray, O Lord.
    Be merciful and answer me!
My heart has heard you say, “Come and talk with me.”
And my heart responds, “Lord, I am coming.”
Do not turn your back on me.
Do not reject your servant in anger.
You have always been my helper.
Don’t leave me now; don’t abandon me,
    O God of my salvation!
10 Even if my father and mother abandon me,
the Lord will hold me close.
11 Teach me how to live, O Lord.
Lead me along the right path,
for my enemies are waiting for me.
12 Do not let me fall into their hands.
    For they accuse me of things I’ve never done;
with every breath they threaten me with violence.
13 Yet I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness
while I am here in the land of the living.
14 Wait patiently for the Lord.
    Be brave and courageous.
Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.

Jonathan

Children

Hi Peeps,
Today’s Quote
“As a parent, you can see the history of your child and their choices to follow God in Spirit and in Truth, in addition to witnessing the horror of bad choices and mistakes as well.”  ~  Jon Barnes

Copy

Children can choose to copy their parents or find something/someone else to model better behavior, wisdom, and knowledge to improve their future.  When a child copies God and His ways, a parent can experience true success and happiness from such a blessing and wise choice.  However, the parent should copy God as a child tends to copy their parents.

Fraud

Beware of fake motives in the hearts of children, parents, and people that would tarnish and distort the True Intentions of God’s Word, Ways, and Commandments.  There is a tendency to look the other way, when the truth is clear and honest, because people will follow the money, greed, and power, by ignoring God and His Laws of Life.

Original

When you have read the authentic copy of God’s Word to study His Ways, people can not feed you a fake message with false promises and ideas of evil.  You will know the truth and walk in it, even if you are among the few on the road to righteousness.  Others will follow as you copy God, yet many will not.

Psalm 4

For the choir director: A psalm of David, to be accompanied by stringed instruments.
Answer me when I call to you,
O God who declares me innocent.
Free me from my troubles.
Have mercy on me and hear my prayer.
How long will you people ruin my reputation?
How long will you make groundless accusations?
How long will you continue your lies? Interlude
You can be sure of this:
The Lord set apart the godly for himself.
The Lord will answer when I call to him.
Don’t sin by letting anger control you.
Think about it overnight and remain silent. Interlude
Offer sacrifices in the right spirit,
    and trust the Lord.
Many people say, “Who will show us better times?”
Let your face smile on us, Lord.
You have given me greater joy
than those who have abundant harvests of grain and new wine.
In peace I will lie down and sleep,
for you alone, O Lord, will keep me safe.

Love,

Jonathan

Options

fork-2115485_1920.jpg

Hi Peeps,

Today’s Quote

“God takes impossible missions and turns them into the best options and plays for His Team.”  ~ Jon Barnes

Option

God has given us life with options to follow.  You only have two options with a 50% chance of getting it right.  Many will fail by making the wrong choice, even when the deck is stacked 100% in their favor, with God’s Universal DNA, fingerprints, and images all over the place.  We are all made in His Image and it is our option to believe and live by God’s design, wisdom, and understanding. Execute your option playbook from the Bible.

Optional

You don’t have to follow the devil because it is optional.  Your choice condemns or sets you free in God, because of your love and interest in pleasing Him.  I am not the person to please. I can only be happy for you in the choice you make, one way or the other. Refuse to live in a state of sadness when others make such bad decisions for their own lives. Pray and let them choose their fate and allow your life to be a testimony of your faith with words, actions, good deeps, and honest integrity from God’s Blessings.  Perhaps they will see the light and respond to God.

Impossible

Nothing is impossible with God, with His Word, in His Plans for those who love and follow His Foot Steps. All options are in your favor because you are doing your part, regardless of the situation.  Believing and doing what God says can only be a great thing in your life since God rewards good people even more for doing the work of faith. Nothing is impossible for God to do, with all of the options in His Hand.  Why gamble on the devil, his evil plans, and wicked ways of old?

Today’s Question

Do you feel empowered by God when you read, study, and love what He says, from doing your homework and studying your personal options in Christ?

Esther 4

Mordecai Persuades Esther to Help

When Mordecai learned of all that had been done, he tore his clothes, put on sackcloth and ashes, and went out into the city, wailing loudly and bitterly. But he went only as far as the king’s gate, because no one clothed in sackcloth was allowed to enter it. In every province to which the edict and order of the king came, there was great mourning among the Jews, with fasting, weeping and wailing. Many lay in sackcloth and ashes.
When Esther’s eunuchs and female attendants came and told her about Mordecai, she was in great distress. She sent clothes for him to put on instead of his sackcloth, but he would not accept them. Then Esther summoned Hathak, one of the king’s eunuchs assigned to attend her, and ordered him to find out what was troubling Mordecai and why.
So Hathak went out to Mordecai in the open square of the city in front of the king’s gate. Mordecai told him everything that had happened to him, including the exact amount of money Haman had promised to pay into the royal treasury for the destruction of the Jews. He also gave him a copy of the text of the edict for their annihilation, which had been published in Susa, to show to Esther and explain it to her, and he told him to instruct her to go into the king’s presence to beg for mercy and plead with him for her people.
Hathak went back and reported to Esther what Mordecai had said. 10 Then she instructed him to say to Mordecai, 11 “All the king’s officials and the people of the royal provinces know that for any man or woman who approaches the king in the inner court without being summoned the king has but one law: that they be put to death unless the king extends the gold scepter to them and spares their lives. But thirty days have passed since I was called to go to the king.”
12 When Esther’s words were reported to Mordecai, 13 he sent back this answer: “Do not think that because you are in the king’s house you alone of all the Jews will escape. 14 For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”
15 Then Esther sent this reply to Mordecai: 16 “Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.”
17 So Mordecai went away and carried out all of Esther’s instructions.

Jonathan

The Arts

pencils-452238_1920Hi Peeps,
Today’s Quote
“The art of progress is like practicing music each day and discovering that you actually get better in your work and love for God, inspire of yourself.”  ~  Jon Barnes

Movement

The moving arts teaches you how to practice the right moves in life with God, as seen all around His Universal Creations.  Each move that you master helps with learning the next function, fact, and figure to develop in your thinking, loving, and working out your salvation in God.  No movement with God means no faith in action and the art in your life will be like your lost soul.

Momentum

Take hold of the momentum God has given you to succeed and don’t give it up for a few dollars.  Money means nothing to God.  Making the right choices will teach you the art of making and saving money from God’s perspective.  Satisfy your soul with Godly substance and artistic value when you maintain your practice schedule of salvation in Christ.

Motion

Don’t let your emotions determine the motion you will take with God and your movements.  Let God’s Word and Work teach you how to define True Art in your life, so that your actions will last generations into the future, producing good fruit for God.  This perpetual motion, movement, momentum and artwork can be seen in your family’s choices as well.

2 Chronicles 12

Egypt Invades Judah

12 But when Rehoboam was firmly established and strong, he abandoned the Law of the Lord, and all Israel followed him in this sin. Because they were unfaithful to the Lord, King Shishak of Egypt came up and attacked Jerusalem in the fifth year of King Rehoboam’s reign. He came with 1,200 chariots, 60,000 horses,[a] and a countless army of foot soldiers, including Libyans, Sukkites, and Ethiopians.[b] Shishak conquered Judah’s fortified towns and then advanced to attack Jerusalem.
The prophet Shemaiah then met with Rehoboam and Judah’s leaders, who had all fled to Jerusalem because of Shishak. Shemaiah told them, “This is what the Lord says: You have abandoned me, so I am abandoning you to Shishak.”
Then the leaders of Israel and the king humbled themselves and said, “The Lord is right in doing this to us!”
When the Lord saw their change of heart, he gave this message to Shemaiah: “Since the people have humbled themselves, I will not completely destroy them and will soon give them some relief. I will not use Shishak to pour out my anger on Jerusalem. But they will become his subjects, so they will know the difference between serving me and serving earthly rulers.”
So King Shishak of Egypt came up and attacked Jerusalem. He ransacked the treasuries of the Lord’s Temple and the royal palace; he stole everything, including all the gold shields Solomon had made. 10 King Rehoboam later replaced them with bronze shields as substitutes, and he entrusted them to the care of the commanders of the guard who protected the entrance to the royal palace. 11 Whenever the king went to the Temple of the Lord, the guards would also take the shields and then return them to the guardroom.12 Because Rehoboam humbled himself, the Lord’s anger was turned away, and he did not destroy him completely. There were still some good things in the land of Judah.

Summary of Rehoboam’s Reign

13 King Rehoboam firmly established himself in Jerusalem and continued to rule. He was forty-one years old when he became king, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city the Lord had chosen from among all the tribes of Israel as the place to honor his name. Rehoboam’s mother was Naamah, a woman from Ammon. 14 But he was an evil king, for he did not seek the Lord with all his heart.
15 The rest of the events of Rehoboam’s reign, from beginning to end, are recorded in The Record of Shemaiah the Prophet and The Record of Iddo the Seer, which are part of the genealogical record. Rehoboam and Jeroboam were continually at war with each other.16 When Rehoboam died, he was buried in the City of David. Then his son Abijah became the next king.

Jonathan
