Gratitude

heart-1318850_1920 (1).jpg

Hi Peeps,

Today’s Quote

“When you dwell on all that God has done for you, staying in a gracious mindset becomes easier.”~TB

In Spite Of

In spite of our flaws, misdeeds, doubt, doublemindedness, and the like, God still loves every single one of us. Think about that for a second. No matter what we do, how good or bad, we will always have a connection to Christ. That type of love is unquantifiable! Friends, be grateful that He is so loving, especially to a population that will never have the greatest track record.

Pass it On

As you know the Truth, live in peace, and practice gratitude amongst one another. Let the offenses pass you by, forgive quickly and freely, and meditate on God’s goodness daily. It is by practicing the grace and mercy of the Lord that changes the hearts and minds of others. There’s no need to be mean or defend yourself. God sees all. So let him see you practice His teachings, sharing the Good News.

Today’s Question

Are you being grateful or are you looking for the next best thing?

Psalm 139

1 O LORD, you have examined my heart and know everything about me.
2 You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.
3 You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do.
4 You know what I am going to say even before I say it, LORD .
5 You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand!
7 I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence!
8 If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there.
9 If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans,
10 even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me.
11 I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night—
12 but even in darkness I cannot hide from you. To you the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same to you.
13 You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.
15 You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.
16You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.
17 How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered!
18 I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!
19 O God, if only you would destroy the wicked! Get out of my life, you murderers!
20 They blaspheme you; your enemies misuse your name.
21 O LORD, shouldn’t I hate those who hate you? Shouldn’t I despise those who oppose you?
22 Yes, I hate them with total hatred, for your enemies are my enemies.
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.

Tee Up

golf-3685616_1920.jpgHi Peeps,

Today’s Quote

“When we practice God’s teachings, we are teeing up the ball for others to participate.”~TB

Assist

Like a caddie to a golfer, we are to be like cheerful helpers to our brothers and sisters in Christ. Setting up the put, we have to step back and let others hit the ball so they too can experience a relationship with God. The role is to assist, not force. By exuding the love of Christ, our actions are to be synonymous with His, so that the example set forth points to our Maker and not to man. While the actions displayed seldom get external credit, trust that God sees all and our faithful actions are on His record.

Sabotage

When you let pride and ego drive the cart, issues like judgment, religious behavior, and acting come into play, misguiding the direction of the put. Friends, we cannot hit the ball for believers. Do not proselytize or beat the Gospel on people’s heads. God does not need a defender, or do you not remember how you came to Christ? Surely no one held you to the fire, so avoid doing that to your peers. Allow the Lord to work in the hearts of others by exemplifying the grace, joy, and mercy He shares with us.

Today’s Question

Are you like a faithful caddie pointing to God or are you forcing the ball into a Hellish sandtrap?

Psalm 113

1 Praise the LORD ! Yes, give praise, O servants of the LORD . Praise the name of the LORD !
2 Blessed be the name of the LORD now and forever.
3 Everywhere—from east to west— praise the name of the LORD .
4For the LORD is high above the nations; his glory is higher than the heavens.
5 Who can be compared with the LORD our God, who is enthroned on high?
6 He stoops to look down on heaven and on earth.
7 He lifts the poor from the dust and the needy from the garbage dump.
8 He sets them among princes, even the princes of his own people!
9He gives the childless woman a family, making her a happy mother. Praise the LORD !

Walls

vaulted-cellar-247391_1920.jpg
Hi Peeps,
Today’s Quote
“We build walls and God tears them down so that we can love, live, share, give, and learn from each other.”  ~ Jon Barnes

Tunnels

Walls create a tunnel vision of isolation, separation, and desperation so that your love cannot be exposed for others to see, feel, and experience.  Open up your window, get out of the house, and spread your joy of The Lord.  Hiding in a tunnel, room, house, or cave will not help others to learn and grow in their faith.  Exit your self-made tunnel.

Fences

People need each other to help cross over fences, migrate, travel, and to relocate their families from evil situations into the light of love.  Sometimes it is best to move away from evil people and their wicked practices so that your family can have a better opportunity to learn, love, share, give, pray, and hope for a better future.  It is not wise to fence yourself into a bad situation when you can create a better one.

Borders

Create a border of protection around your family that is clear, invisible, and full of love from God, because you have taught them about the love of Christ in your heart.  The quality of work, faith, and time you spend with your family will fight off drugs, alcohol, abuse, waste, laziness, and disobedience.  Let the invisible Walls of God’s Love connect us to the Kingdom of God and tear down all man-made fake borders of patrol.
Today’s Question
Are you walking through the walls of ignorance with Christ or are you trapped with satan, bound for hell?

Psalm 49

For the choir director: A psalm of the descendants of Korah.

Listen to this, all you people!
Pay attention, everyone in the world!
High and low,
    rich and poor—listen!
For my words are wise,
and my thoughts are filled with insight.
I listen carefully to many proverbs
and solve riddles with inspiration from a harp.
Why should I fear when trouble comes,
    when enemies surround me?
They trust in their wealth
    and boast of great riches.
Yet they cannot redeem themselves from death[a]
by paying a ransom to God.
Redemption does not come so easily,
for no one can ever pay enough
to live forever
    and never see the grave.
10 Those who are wise must finally die,
just like the foolish and senseless,
    leaving all their wealth behind.
11 The grave is their eternal home,
    where they will stay forever.
They may name their estates after themselves,
12     but their fame will not last.
They will die, just like animals.
13 This is the fate of fools,
though they are remembered as being wise. Interlude
14 Like sheep, they are led to the grave,
where death will be their shepherd.
In the morning the godly will rule over them.
Their bodies will rot in the grave,
    far from their grand estates.
15 But as for me, God will redeem my life.
He will snatch me from the power of the grave. Interlude
16 So don’t be dismayed when the wicked grow rich
and their homes become ever more splendid.
17 For when they die, they take nothing with them.
Their wealth will not follow them into the grave.
18 In this life they consider themselves fortunate
and are applauded for their success.
19 But they will die like all before them
and never again see the light of day.
20 People who boast of their wealth don’t understand;
they will die, just like animals.
Love,

Jonathan

Homeless

man-3328779_1920.jpg
Hi Peeps,
Today’s Quote
“For every homeless, helpless, hopeless, street person I have ever met, I clearly remember most of them saying to me, ”God Bless You!”  ~  Jon Barnes

Know

By default, people call on God and thank Him for blessings and in time of need.  Now if we could get people to walk with God all day long, this world would be a better place to live, with no one homeless or living without basic necessities.  We all know how to help each other out and to do our fair share of work, but we all have our issues.

Who

Those who share will share their gifts with others each day in many different ways.  On the job, at home, church, school, etc, good people can be found loving, caring sharing, and teaching.  Now if we could get more people to walk with God all day long, our leaders, teachers, parents, preachers, owners, and managers would already be trained to do a better job in our government, businesses, churches, educational institutions, and management of our resources, talents, wages, raises, bonuses, and profit sharing.

God

God knows who is responsible for the homeless, hopeless, and helpless of people.  We all must pitch in to help improve our communities at every level. Refer to the rich man and poor man story in the bible.  The rich guy asked, please let me go to my brothers and explain how wrong their business practices are!
Today’s Question
Are your business practices driving people into homelessness, poverty, hopelessness, and helplessness with your greed for more profits and the slave owner mentality?

Psalm 28

A psalm of David.

I pray to you, O Lord, my rock.
Do not turn a deaf ear to me.
For if you are silent,
I might as well give up and die.
Listen to my prayer for mercy
as I cry out to you for help,
as I lift my hands toward your holy sanctuary.
Do not drag me away with the wicked—
    with those who do evil—
those who speak friendly words to their neighbors
while planning evil in their hearts.
Give them the punishment they so richly deserve!
Measure it out in proportion to their wickedness.
Pay them back for all their evil deeds!
Give them a taste of what they have done to others.
They care nothing for what the Lord has done
or for what his hands have made.
So he will tear them down,
and they will never be rebuilt!
Praise the Lord!
For he has heard my cry for mercy.
The Lord is my strength and shield.
I trust him with all my heart.
He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy.
I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.
The Lord gives his people strength.
He is a safe fortress for his anointed king.
Save your people!
    Bless Israel, your special possession.[a]
Lead them like a shepherd,
and carry them in your arms forever.

Love,

Jonathan

Hands

Hi Peeps,
Today’s Quote
“The hand of God is so powerful and awesome, I’m starting to correct many of my mistakes to now notice the best choices, options, decisions, thoughts, and words to say, exercise, share, and type each day; because I want to do better.”  ~  Jon Barnes

Connect

Connect and correct your mistakes, error of thinking, and judgment with God so that He can guide how you talk, think, work, listen, and respond to others with quality, dignity, respect, and thoughtful responses to the needs of others.  Help people and yourself by giving honest truth and moving through life as you should.

Run

Run to the devil with the truth and he will step aside because God is with you!  When he shows up, have your spiritual atomic bombs ready to hand him, as you pull the grenade-like pin, placing the bomb into satan’s mouth.  There is no need to be afraid when you are doing the right things with God’s blessings.

Enjoy

Enjoy how God’s atomic love explodes in the face of evil like lovely fireworks of splendor in the grass, along with your best choices of patience, commitment, quality, and consistency for sharing God’s love everywhere you go and in everything you do.  Let your reputation sing like a symphony of all styles of music, being conducted by the very Hand of God. God can see all of your work, before, during, and after it happens.
Today’s Question
Are you a true instrument of God’s musical body of works or are you a mistake to blot out of Lamb’s Book of Life in Heaven?

Psalm 9

For the choir director: A psalm of David, to be sung to the tune “Death of the Son.”

I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart;
I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done.
I will be filled with joy because of you.
I will sing praises to your name, O Most High.
My enemies retreated;
they staggered and died when you appeared.
For you have judged in my favor;
from your throne you have judged with fairness.
You have rebuked the nations and destroyed the wicked;
you have erased their names forever.
The enemy is finished, in endless ruins;
the cities you uprooted are now forgotten.
But the Lord reigns forever,
    executing judgment from his throne.
He will judge the world with justice
and rule the nations with fairness.
The Lord is a shelter for the oppressed,
a refuge in times of trouble.
10 Those who know your name trust in you,
for you, O Lord, do not abandon those who search for you.
11 Sing praises to the Lord who reigns in Jerusalem.[a]
Tell the world about his unforgettable deeds.
12 For he who avenges murder cares for the helpless.
He does not ignore the cries of those who suffer.
13 Lord, have mercy on me.
See how my enemies torment me.
Snatch me back from the jaws of death.
14 Save me so I can praise you publicly at Jerusalem’s gates,
so I can rejoice that you have rescued me.
15 The nations have fallen into the pit they dug for others.
Their own feet have been caught in the trap they set.
16 The Lord is known for his justice.
The wicked are trapped by their own deeds. Quiet Interlude[b]
17 The wicked will go down to the grave.[c]
This is the fate of all the nations who ignore God.
18 But the needy will not be ignored forever;
the hopes of the poor will not always be crushed.
19 Arise, O Lord!
Do not let mere mortals defy you!
    Judge the nations!
20 Make them tremble in fear, O Lord.
Let the nations know they are merely human. Interlude

Love,

Jonathan

Job 7

“Do not mortals have hard service on earth?
Are not their days like those of hired laborers?
Like a slave longing for the evening shadows,
or a hired laborer waiting to be paid,
so I have been allotted months of futility,
and nights of misery have been assigned to me.
When I lie down I think, ‘How long before I get up?’
The night drags on, and I toss and turn until dawn.
My body is clothed with worms and scabs,
my skin is broken and festering.
“My days are swifter than a weaver’s shuttle,
and they come to an end without hope.
Remember, O God, that my life is but a breath;
my eyes will never see happiness again.
The eye that now sees me will see me no longer;
you will look for me, but I will be no more.
As a cloud vanishes and is gone,
so one who goes down to the grave does not return.
10 He will never come to his house again;
his place will know him no more.
11 “Therefore I will not keep silent;
I will speak out in the anguish of my spirit,
I will complain in the bitterness of my soul.
12 Am I the sea, or the monster of the deep,
that you put me under guard?
13 When I think my bed will comfort me
and my couch will ease my complaint,
14 even then you frighten me with dreams
    and terrify me with visions,
15 so that I prefer strangling and death,
rather than this body of mine.
16 I despise my life; I would not live forever.
Let me alone; my days have no meaning.
17 “What is mankind that you make so much of them,
that you give them so much attention,
18 that you examine them every morning
    and test them every moment?
19 Will you never look away from me,
or let me alone even for an instant?
20 If I have sinned, what have I done to you,
you who see everything we do?
Why have you made me your target?
    Have I become a burden to you?[a]
21 Why do you not pardon my offenses
    and forgive my sins?
For I will soon lie down in the dust;
you will search for me, but I will be no more.”

Love,

Jonathan

2 Chronicles 31

Hezekiah’s Religious Reforms

31 When the festival ended, the Israelites who attended went to all the towns of Judah, Benjamin, Ephraim, and Manasseh, and they smashed all the sacred pillars, cut down the Asherah poles, and removed the pagan shrines and altars. After this, the Israelites returned to their own towns and homes.
Hezekiah then organized the priests and Levites into divisions to offer the burnt offerings and peace offerings, and to worship and give thanks and praise to the Lord at the gates of the Temple. The king also made a personal contribution of animals for the daily morning and evening burnt offerings, the weekly Sabbath festivals, the monthly new moon festivals, and the annual festivals as prescribed in the Law of the Lord. In addition, he required the people in Jerusalem to bring a portion of their goods to the priests and Levites, so they could devote themselves fully to the Law of the Lord.
When the people of Israel heard these requirements, they responded generously by bringing the first share of their grain, new wine, olive oil, honey, and all the produce of their fields. They brought a large quantity—a tithe of all they produced. The people who had moved to Judah from Israel, and the people of Judah themselves, brought in the tithes of their cattle, sheep, and goats and a tithe of the things that had been dedicated to the Lord their God, and they piled them up in great heaps. They began piling them up in late spring, and the heaps continued to grow until early autumn.[a] When Hezekiah and his officials came and saw these huge piles, they thanked the Lord and his people Israel!
“Where did all this come from?” Hezekiah asked the priests and Levites.
10 And Azariah the high priest, from the family of Zadok, replied, “Since the people began bringing their gifts to the Lord’s Temple, we have had enough to eat and plenty to spare. The Lord has blessed his people, and all this is left over.”
11 Hezekiah ordered that storerooms be prepared in the Temple of the Lord. When this was done, 12 the people faithfully brought all the gifts, tithes, and other items dedicated for use in the Temple. Conaniah the Levite was put in charge, assisted by his brother Shimei. 13 The supervisors under them were Jehiel, Azaziah, Nahath, Asahel, Jerimoth, Jozabad, Eliel, Ismakiah, Mahath, and Benaiah. These appointments were made by King Hezekiah and Azariah, the chief official in the Temple of God.
14 Kore son of Imnah the Levite, who was the gatekeeper at the East Gate, was put in charge of distributing the voluntary offerings given to God, the gifts, and the things that had been dedicated to the Lord. 15 His faithful assistants were Eden, Miniamin, Jeshua, Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shecaniah. They distributed the gifts among the families of priests in their towns by their divisions, dividing the gifts fairly among old and young alike. 16 They distributed the gifts to all males three years old or older, regardless of their place in the genealogical records. The distribution went to all who would come to the Lord’s Temple to perform their daily duties according to their divisions. 17 They distributed gifts to the priests who were listed by their families in the genealogical records, and to the Levites twenty years old or older who were listed according to their jobs and their divisions. 18 Food allotments were also given to the families of all those listed in the genealogical records, including their little babies, wives, sons, and daughters. For they had all been faithful in purifying themselves.
19 As for the priests, the descendants of Aaron, who were living in the open villages around the towns, men were appointed by name to distribute portions to every male among the priests and to all the Levites listed in the genealogical records.
20 In this way, King Hezekiah handled the distribution throughout all Judah, doing what was pleasing and good in the sight of the Lord his God. 21 In all that he did in the service of the Temple of God and in his efforts to follow God’s laws and commands, Hezekiah sought his God wholeheartedly. As a result, he was very successful.
Love,
Jonathan
